Vicryl Plus Undyed Suture, size 4-0 and 18 inches in length, is designed for effective soft tissue approximation and ligation. This suture utilizes a conventional cutting needle, which provides precise penetration and reduces tissue trauma during suturing. The needle’s design facilitates smooth passage through tissue, enhancing surgical efficiency and minimizing handling time.

The suture material is coated polyglactin 910 combined with antibacterial properties through the incorporation of triclosan. In vitro studies have demonstrated its efficacy against common surgical site pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE).

Vicryl Plus sutures offer balanced tensile strength, maintaining approximately 50% of their strength at three weeks post-implantation. This gradual loss of tensile strength aligns with the tissue healing process, providing sufficient support while tissues regain their natural strength.
